Lumecca - IPL

  • What is Lumecca?

Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. Patients who have age spots, sun spots, vascular lesions, rosacea, etc can expect superior clearance in 1-3 treatments, versus 4-6 treatments with a standard IPL device. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photo facial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. After just one use, you will notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of your skin. Whether your areas of concern are brown or red, our IPL can exceed your expectations in getting the clearance you desire!

At Executive Esthetics in Laguna Beach we promise results over numbers! Patients that purchase our 3 treatment Lumecca packages all receive a final evaluation 4 weeks after their 3rd treatment to review their results. In the rare occasion that another treatment is required to achieve full clearance, we promise to never charge for the additional treatment. This allows us to begin on lower energy levels when necessary to ensure optimal results without any adverse effects. If you are looking to erase sun spots, age spots, freckles, vascular lesions, rosacea, etc then come see us at Executive Esthetics in Laguna Beach and let us show you what this amazing treatment can do!

  • What Areas can be treated?

Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. However, the most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, head, neck, décolletage, legs, hands, and arms.

  • Results and Recovery Time?

You won't have downtime after a Lumecca treatment, but for the first 48 hours, you may have common side effects like a reddish or pink hue on skin, like with a sunburn. Your skin will feel especially sensitive. The excess pigment that was pulled to the surface will continue to darken and start to flake off, looking a lot like coffee grounds. To avoid scarring, don’t rub or clean your skin too vigorously—and avoid picking at the dark spots.

Wait a week before resuming any topical retinoid or exfoliator, including a facial brush. Avoid removing facial hair via wax, depilatory, or laser for two weeks and stay away from microdermabrasion for a few weeks as well—it’s too irritating to your fresh skin. During this time, try to avoid direct sunlight. You’ll have to wear a sunblock with and SPF of 30 or higher daily for the next six weeks—long enough to get you in the habit of wearing it every day—to prevent future age spots or sunspots.
